NOTICE OF MEETING:
The Montross Town Council subcommittee overseeing Personnel activities has
requested of the mayor to hold a special meeting to discuss and screen for a new employee. 
The mayor has agreed, and the special meeting under Virginia Code Section 2.2-3711(A)(1)
for the purpose of addressing Personnel issues will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 6pm​

REAL ESTATE TAXES

Town of Montross residents are subject to both the town's and Westmoreland County real estate taxes. All real estate assessments are provided by the Westmoreland County Commissioner of the Revenue. The current tax rate is $0.05 / $100 of assessed value. The Town of Montross bills real estate taxes annually and the due date for payment is December 5th of each year. Payments received after December 5th are subject to a 10% penalty.  Interest shall accrue upon both the delinquent taxes and penalty at the rate of 10% per annum. All real estate is subject to taxation unless specifically exempted by Virginia State Code.
